The week that was: Jun 28th - Jul 4th

Copenhagen in the summer is pretty unbeatable

Working on…

  • I’ve shuffled a tiny bit further forward on Things Men Have Said To Me Instead Of Hello by making vessels! All will be revealed soon. I haven’t had the time/space to write anything meaningful about the next piece this week, but you can catch up on the first two here.

  • It has been a week for talking about art more than making art - I had 4 studio visits this week, as well as podcast recordings, and an artist networking event!

Thinking about…

How endlessly fascinating people are - I love the magic that happens when you connect with another person, human to human. Sometimes it’s superficial, sometimes it’s so profound it takes your breath away, but everyone you meet has the potential to change you.

Reading…

My brain has been largely offline this week so I’ve just been burning through murder mysteries like nobody’s business! Nothing like a good murder to sooth the soul.

Watching…

Dinner in America - OMG, I adored this film (the trailer doesn’t do it justice). Another perfect autistic/weirdo love story (albeit VERY different from Brian & Charles). Starts slow but stick with it - it pays off big. Also, I love the “autism is punk as fuck” vibes - I’ve been saying this for years 🤣.

Listening to…

When things get busy I always retreat into the comfortable and familiar to keep myself regulated (hence all the murder mysteries!), and music is no different. I’ve listened to this album so much over the years it’s become a part of me.
