Translating your genius

"She [Zandra Rhodes] only moved into fashion because nobody would hire her, she says, even though she had been the star student of her year at art college."

Apparently the inimitable Zandra Rhodes tried to make it in interiors when she first left college, but no one was interested in the mad, colourful designs she was later sought out for. So she took a sideways step into fashion instead.

Sometimes you have to change the format of your genius to help people 'get' it, and then eventually you can move back into whatever it was you wanted to do in the first place (if you still want to, of course)!
