The first date I went on in Copenhagen was at Floss Bar - a grotty, sexy dive bar with a bright red naked mannequin hanging over the door. It’s the first time I met the Nicaraguan poet, and also the first time he proposed to me - after a number of tequilas, mind you, and his three friends immediately followed suit. None of it was real, but all of it was magical - my first taste of the possibility of a different life.
