The first time I ever felt any sense of belonging to a place was when I discovered the Mosaic Cemetery where the graves of my great-great-great-great-great grandparents are located. Their portrait is in the national art museum here too - he was a wealthy merchant who became the editor of national newspaper Berlingske (which is still going today), as well as fighting for Jewish rights. Copenhagen is full of ancestral history for me, and I was surprised by how much it affected me.
