Exhibition leavings, a sparkling floor, and a big black machine
If you came for a Studio Visit this week, you would see…
A spotless space
You could eat your dinner off that floor
The Things Men Have Said To Me Instead Of Hello collection finally headed off to the gallery this month so I indulged in my post project ritual of stripping the studio down to the ground and scrubbing it to within an inch of its life.
The energy in here now is so fresh and sparkling and I’m ready to start cooking up a fresh batch of art.
(Those paintings on shelf, btw, are from The Flourishing collection, and they’re currently still available - at time of writing. If you want to take one home you’ll find them here, just FYI 😜).
A new computer
Look at this monstrosity!
My beloved-but-ancient old laptop has been struggling lately, especially when it comes to editing YouTube videos (this one took me three fucking days to render and nearly cost me my sanity!), so Lars bought me this absolute behemoth!
It’s an imposing presence in my tiny little studio, but holy shit is it whizzy! It has handled everything I’ve thrown at it so far and that means I am back on my YouTube game in a big way! Expect videos galore from me over the next few months.
Butt stuff invitations
It’s hilarious that this image is the one Mel chose to promote the show
I have a stack of postcards leftover from my recent exhibition opening. I always frame one copy of the exhibition poster, but we didn’t have for this show so I’ll frame one of the postcards instead and pop the rest in my archive.
Every time I see it one the wall I’ll be reminded of what an incredible night it was.
Speech notes
Just out here sharing my plan for overthrowing the patriarchy
I had to give a short speech at the opening, and even though it was just a few minutes I was so nervous (I’ll share the speech in an upcoming video about the event), so I had some prompt cards to help me along.
These will be added to the archive as well. I’m such a hoarder when it comes to the ephemera of my work, but I love looking back over it - it’s full of memories, and insights which only develop with time.
Wanna hang out in the Studio with me?
Now that the TMHSTMIOH collection is all squared away, I am back open for Studio Visits! Contact me for an IRL or virtual visit here and we can get you booked in.
