Finding my creative spark again - feat. new cats, D&D burlesque & beachcombing | May Vlog
Recovering my creativity after a big project, life in Copenhagen, new kittens, and the ideas that are informing my next body of work.
Every time I finish a big project I hit a lull: a long fallow period. And last year's project (Things Men Have Said To Me Instead Of Hello) was pretty momentous, so the ebb has been too. This is the story of how May brought new sparks of creativity into my life - through wandering in Nørrebro, watching D&D themed burlesque (Goblins & Garterbelts 🤣), filling my sketchbook with life drawing, and beachcombing for the next Friends of the Haus exclusive zine.

Plus: a witch market, a birthday at the zoo, exploring Copenhagen, our favourite cocktail haunts.
This is life in the Haus of Cats. I’m happy to have you along on the journey 💛.

Someone asked me recently whether fully owning your difference inevitably makes it visible on the outside. In this video I share my answer along with some of my favourite, most ‘me’ outfits.
What happens when the same week someone tells you that you've created a safe space where people feel truly seen, you also put your foot in it so spectacularly that your brain is still replaying the horror movie version three days later?
The construction outside has been relentless, my brain is frazzled, and the only thing that's making me feel better is losing myself in fictional worlds! So the wonderful Lars was dispatched to the library and came back staggering under the weight of a giant pile of books
Inspiration is rarely a single lightbulb moment. It's more like a compost heap - a giant steaming pile of disparate things slowly breaking down until they become something new. This is a tour of my particular inspiration compost heap.
Ever wondered what goes into making a zine? Today I'm showing you my entire process for creating a digital zine for Friends of The Haus - from designing the layout, to cutting up my own artwork, to assembling the final piece.
Come spend a day in the Haus with me - filming, zine-making, a fabulous outfit, and time with some of my favourite people in the world.
In January I opened an exhibition at MDS Gallery in Copenhagen called Things Men Have Said To Me Instead Of Hello - the culmination of a year’s worth of thought and labour. And in March, for International Women's Day, I sat down with gender studies scholar Elisabeth Gehrke to talk about it live on stage.
A while back, Jennifer and I spent an afternoon making puppets in my studio. No plan, no tutorial, just a bunch of scrap materials and a great big dollop of FAFO attitude. This is what that looked like.
Kick off your shoes and snuggle up on the couch with me as I share the 12 books that earned 5 stars from me in 2025.
